The MobileLab project – much more than a spectacular experimental demonstration

Abstract

Over the past decades, it has been observed internationally that science education is beginning to face a crisis. On the one hand, the explanation for this must be found in the decreasing interest on the part of children and in the continuous decline in the number of science teachers. The situation in Hungary is particularly striking: there are more and more schools where specialist provision is not provided. The MobilLab project aims to mitigate the damage caused by the situation. Within the framework of the project, chemistry teachers visit the schools concerned with small experimental suitcases and try to lead activities that can at least arouse interest in science.

ÖSSZEFOGLALÓ

Az elmúlt évtizedek során nemzetközi szinten megfigyelhető, hogy a természettudományos oktatás kezd válságos helyzetbe kerülni. Ennek magyarázatát egyrészt a gyermekek részéről egyre inkább mutatkozó érdeklődés mérséklődésében, valamint a természettudományokat tanító tanárok számának folyamatos csökkenésében kell keresnünk. A helyzet Magyarországon kifejezetten szembetűnő: egyre több olyan iskola van, ahol nem biztosított a szakos ellátottság. A MobilLabor-projekt célja mérsékelni a helyzet okozta károkat. A projekt keretében kémiatanárok kis kísérleti bőrönddel járják az érintett iskolákat és igyekeznek olyan foglalkozásokat vezetni, amelyek legalább a természettudományok iránti érdeklődést fel tudják kelteni.
