Abstract

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) wind simulations are playing an increasingly important role in structural engineering, however their reliable application requires proper validation. This study investigates the effects of mesh generation and turbulence models on quasi-static wind load determination to support the development of a digital wind tunnel integration into a structural design software environment using velocity- and pressure-based reference comparisons.
