Logic of structures: Seeing is understanding

Abstract

The increasing technological changes of the 21st century and the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI),—combined with widening generational gaps that reflect fundamentally different behaviors and mindsets due to rapid evolutionary changes—compel us to radically rethink and transform our communication, teaching methods, and, above all, our curricula. This is particularly true for architectural education, where even the core questions of what to teach and to what depth regarding supporting structures are being reconsidered.

I attempt to explore how new generations think, learn and create differently from their predecessors, what their specific expectations are toward education. I will also try to illustrate through practical examples how I imagine presenting the behavior of supporting structures, developing an engineering mindset with the help of creative and motivating learning processes, centered on tangible experiences gained through experience-based physical experiments.
