Building engineering solutions for heating churches Renovation of St. Michael's Cathedral in Veszprém

Abstract

The Archdiocese of Veszprém in Veszprém Castle has commissioned our design company to renovate the St. Michael's Cathedral building, a listed historical monument. The church, which is at least 1100 years old, has undergone several alterations to obtain its present form. My paper describes the plans for the building engineering of the complete interior restoration.
In an introduction, I describe the special difficulties of heating churches, and the system of requirements for historic installations and organs. I also discuss a previous heating renovation of a small church, the historic church of St. John the Baptist in Visegrád.
The plans include the thermal energy supply and the design of the heating systems of the Veszprém Cathedral. The presented solution includes the specificities of energy-saving operation and heating of churches.

A veszprémi várban lévő Veszprémi Érsekség a Szent Mihály
Főszékesegyház épületének műemléki felújítását az Érsekség a tervezői társaságunktól megrendelte. A legalább 1100 éves műemlék templom többszöri átalakítással érte mai formáját. Szakcikkem, a teljes belső műemléki felújítás épületgépészetének terveit ismerteti.
Bevezetőben ismertetem a templomok fűtésének különleges nehézségeit, a műemléki berendezések és orgonák követelmény rendszerét. Kitérek egy kisebb templom -a visegrádi Keresztelő Szent János műemléktemplom- korábbi fűtési felújítására.
A tervek tartalmazzák a veszprémi Főszékesegyház hőenergia ellátását és fűtési rendszereinek kialakítását. A közölt megoldás tartalmazza az energiatakarékos üzemeltetés és a templomok fűtésének sajátosságait.
