Investigation of activated sludge pumping

Abstract

Changes in the concentration of the activated sludge during wastewater treatment technology also modify the rheological properties of the fluid. In our work, we determined the losses and characteristic curves of simple hydrodynamic systems carrying three different, real activated sludge based on CFD calculations and literature data. We have shown that the change in the sludge concentration can have a significant, negative effect on the specific energy consumption of the system.

Az eleveniszapos szennyvíztisztítási technológia során az iszapkoncentráció változása módosítja a közeg reológiai tulajdonságait is. Munkánkban három különböző, valós eleveniszapot szállító, egyszerű hidrodinamikai rendszer veszteségeit és jelleggörbéit határoztuk meg CFD számítások és irodalmi adatok alapján. Kimutattuk, hogy pusztán a koncentráció megváltozása nagymértékű, káros hatással lehet a rendszer fajlagos energiafelhasználására.
