Abstract

In the case of sonochemistry, the acoustically excited bubbles start to pulsate periodically, which can be divided into an expansion and a contraction phase. During the contraction, the pressure and the temperature can reach 1000 bar and 8000 K, respectively. These extreme conditions can increase the chemical yields significantly therefore the chemical industry sees enormous potential in the technology. However, the industrial-scaled application is rare due to the scaling difficulties and the nonlinear dynamics. The present study aims to develop an efficient GPU-compatible numerical method to describe the nonlinear bubble shape deformation and fragmentation.

Kivonat

A szonokémiai alkalmazások során az akusztikusan gerjesztett buborékok periodikus pulzálásba kezdenek, ezen pulzálás egy tágulási, illetve egy kontrakciós fázisra osztható. A kontrakció során a buborékok belsejében a nyomás elérheti az 1000 bar-t míg a hőmérséklet a 8000 K-t, ezen szélsőséges körülmények jelentősen megnövelhetik a kémiai kihozatalt emiatt a vegyipar jelentős potenciált lát a technológiában. A szonokémia ipari méretű alkalmazása azonban nem jellemző a skálázási nehézségek, illetve a nemlineáris dinamika miatt. Jelen kutatás célja a buborékok felületi lengéseinek, illetve a buborékfelbomlás nemlineáris dinamikájának modellezése hatékony GPU kompatibilis módszerrel.
