Supporting the restoration of church fresco paintings with our digital spatial modeling technology

Abstract

In our presentation, we will present the process and results of our work during the restoration of the frescos of two historic churches. The state of the identified wall paintings of the listed churches must be depicted realistically, in a way that can be properly interpreted and used purposefully, before and after the restoration. The representation that is necessary and satisfies the expressed needs is best served by the digital high-precision photo-realistic spatial model of the walls containing the frescos, edited in accordance with the technological standards, and the orthophotos that can be edited from it. In the case of both listed churches, we used our digital, high-precision photo-realistic spatial modeling technology, so the work phases are described only once, and our results are described in tables containing appropriate data for the two listed churches, before and after restoration.

Előadásunkban két műemlék templom falképeinek restaurálása során végzett munkáink folyamatát és eredményeit mutatjuk be. A műemlék templomok azonosított falképeinek állapotát, valósághűen, megfelelő módon értelmezhető és célirányosan felhasználható módon, a restaurálás előtt és után ábrázolni kell. A szükséges és a megfogalmazott igényeket kielégítő ábrázolást a korunk műszaki technológiai színvonalának megfelelően szerkesztett, a falképeket tartalmazó falak, digitális nagy pontosságú fotó-realisztikus térmodellje és az abból szerkeszthető ortofotók szolgálják legjobban. Mindkét műemlék templom esetében a digitális, nagy pontosságú fotó-realisztikus térmodellezési technológiánkat alkalmaztuk, ezért a munkafázisokat csak egyszer, az elért eredményeinket pedig két műemlék templomra vonatkozó, restaurálás előtti és utáni, megfelelő adatokat tartalmazó táblázatokban ismertetjük.
