Sustainability education in chemistry class

Abstract

IUPAC is preparing a project to survey secondary school chemistry teachers on how they integrate green and sustainable chemistry into their everyday practice. As a preliminary step to the survey, we will attempt to outline the current situation in the country and ask some questions of interest to us. We also review the importance of the topic and some good practices in its processing.

The experience of the questionnaires will allow us to compare the respondents' assessment of the situation with our own and, more importantly, to gain insights into the practice of other European and non-European nations on this issue. The latter will be made available to all through the good practices shared on the project website. Furthermore, analysing and adapting them to the domestic context will be a major task.

Az IUPAC egy projekt keretében olyan felmérésre készül, melynek során középiskolai kémiatanárokat kérdeznek meg arról, hogy hogyan illesztik a mindennapi gyakorlati munkájukba a zöld és fenntartható kémia elemeit. A felmérés előzeteseként kísérletet teszünk a jelenlegi hazai helyzet körvonalazására, és néhány számunkra érdekes kérdést is megfogalmazunk. Ezen túl áttekintjük a téma fontosságát és feldolgozásának néhány jógyakorlatát.

A kérdőívek tapasztalatai alapján összevethetjük majd a válaszadók helyzetértékelését az általunk megfogalmazottakkal, és ami még fontosabb, betekintést nyerünk más európai és Európán kívüli nemzetek e témával kapcsolatos gyakorlatába. Utóbbit – a megosztott jógyakorlatokon keresztül – mindenki megteheti majd a projekt honlapján. Továbbá ezek elemzése, hazai viszonyokra adaptálása is jelentős munkának ígérkezik.
