Abstract

It is a known fact that the beginning of the iron smelting industry in Diósgyőr dates back to 1770, and the year of the factory's relocation to Diósgyőr-Vasgyár is 1867. The foundry ladle is emblematic of the slag casting of the iron foundrymen. The creator Gusztáv Kraituz was born here in 1926. The plans for the monument were made by the artist as a gift for the sculptor. The light of the memorial is dimmer than originally planned, as is the memory of the metallurgy that made Miskolc a great industrial city 255 years ago.
