Abstract

Various facies characterize the Middle Miocene mixed carbonate-siliciclastic reservoirs discovered in the Carpathian-Pannonian region. Shallow water high-energy environments controlled the sedimentation and resulted in a wide range of lateral and vertical heterogeneity in these deposits. The post-depositional mechanical and chemical processes often overprint the initial architecture and drive changes in reservoir quality.
