Meteorological analysis of the storm from Baraolt on 30 August 2022

Abstract

The strom on 30 August 2022 in Baraolt result thunderstorms, gust, hail and large amount of precipitations. A convergence line was present along the Eastern Carpathians. Radar data show a multicellular system extending slowly and indicate vertical shear at about 3 km altitude. Cloud top cloud tops reached 14 km. These signs of strong instability contributed to the formation of the storm.
