Abstract

Delaying the laminar-turbulent transition of the flow along aerodynamic bodies has a huge potential for friction drag reduction. The so-called Miniature Vortex Generators (MVGs) have been experimentally confirmed to be able to delay the transition to turbulence, as they can attenuate the growth of the Tollmien-Schlichting waves, but their optimal parameters are unknown. Thorough a parametric study of numerical simulations, it is shown that the efficiency of the previously used MVGs can be substantially increased.

Kivonat

A lamináris-turbulens átmenet késleltetésével áramvonalas testek esetén jelentősen csökkenthető a súrlódási ellenálláserő. Az ún. miniatűr örvénygenerátorok kísérletileg igazoltan képesek késleltetni a turbulencia kialakulását a Tollmien-Schlichting hullámok csillapításával. Egy numerikus szimulációkkal végzett paramétertanulmány keretében megmutatjuk, hogy a korábban vizsgálat örvénygenerátorok hatásossága jelentősen növelhető.
