This paper, which is part of a larger study in preparation, adds new, hitherto unknown data to the results of the early period of Bolyai research. Besides, it tries to clarify the role Sámuel Szabó (1829–1905), a teacher of chemistry and physics at the Reformed College of Târgu Mures, played in the Bolyai research.

E dolgozat, mely egy készülő nagyobb tanulmány részlete, a Bolyai-kutatás kezdeti időszakának eredményeit egészíti ki eddig ismeretlen, új adatokkal. Egyúttal igyekszik tisztázni a marosvásárhelyi református kollégium egykori vegytan-természettan szakos tanárának, Szabó Sámuelnek (1829–1905) a helyét-szerepét a Bolyai-kutatásban.
