We remembered the distinguished professors of the "Practical Mining Department" founded in Selmecbánya in 1770. Delius, Cristoph Traugott's "Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Mining Theory and to the Fundamental Theorems of Mining Science", printed 250 years ago, is of great importance. The disciplines covered by the Department over the past 250 years, and with them the changes in the name of the Department. We remembered our professors who have died in recent decades and their work. Finally, we presented the current staff of the Department, our current teaching areas and research topics.
