Abstract

Fieldwork, detailed mineralogical and geochemical analyses at Ostra have revealed significant insights into its mineralization, initially thought to be focused merely on barite discovered in the 1960s. Beside the previously described, vein-type barite, we identified massive sulphide bodies associated with massive barite. Therefore, our results support the idea of a complex mineralisation process; comprising of an earlier step, which could be related to Cambrian submarine hydrothermal ore-forming processes, and a later step of epigenetic origin.
