This review article describes the terrestrial impact structures and their geological and mineralogical consequences. The impact cratering plays a key role not only in Earth’s history but also in the formation of the Solar System. Therefore, it is important to identify some diagnostic mineralogical and geological features to understand more about the formation mechanism of the meteorite craters, which are related to the shock metamorphism.
