The soil variability of the Berettyó-Körös region based on a pilot area from Tépe

Abstract

The paper aims to summarize the soil diversity of the Berettyó-Körös region, a typical alluvial area, with texture classes ranging from sandy loam to clay. The soil distribution is driven by the geomorphological features of the studied area, which define the texture classes and the hydro-morphologic impacts on the soil formation. The most important soil forming processes are the stagnation, gleyization, salt accumulation, salinization and solodization, and the organic material accumulation.
