Computational curiosities of a wind-sensitive roof structure

Abstract

Present paper deals with the evaluation of wind load on the irregular structure of New Millennium Reformed Centre in Timisoara, designed by Imre Makovecz. There are presented the wind loads obtained based on the Romanian national standard as well as on a numerical approach by using computational fluid dynamics. The wind velocity was considered in accordance with the specifications of the current standard. The paper concludes with a comparison of the numerically obtained wind pressure and the values resulted using the simplified approach.

Kivonat

A dolgozat a Makovecz Imre tervezte temesvári Új Ezredév Református Központ szabálytalan szerkezetének szélterhelésének értékelésével foglalkozik. Bemutatásra kerülnek a román nemzeti szabvány alapján kapott szélterhek, majd a folyadékok dinamikája segítségével számított numerikus megközelítést eredményei. Az figyelembe vett szélsebesség az aktuális szabvány specifikációival összhangban történt. A dolgozat a numerikusan kapott szélnyomás és az egyszerűsített megközelítés alkalmazásával kapott értékek összehasonlításával zárul.
